- Several changes have been implemented legislatively to facilitate
contracting with local businesses. Ken will give an overview of the LSBRP
which is designed to help small businesses in Montgomery County obtain work
with the county (which looks to allocate 20% of business to small business).

download and access procurements, and view abbreviated scopes of the
procurements.

WSSC is the 8th largest water and wastewater utility in the nation, serving more than 1.8 million residents in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. With 7 water and wastewater plants, nearly 5,500 miles of fresh water pipeline and over 5,300 miles of sewer pipeline, they have never had a drinking water quality violation in their 90-year history.
- 45 percent of our water mains are 25-50 years old.
- 23 percent of the mains are over 50 years old.
- In FY09, WSSC replaced 35 miles of new water pipe.
- An estimated $3 billion will be needed for water and sewer pipe replacement in the next 10 years.

Angels for Children Toy Drive - 11th Anniversary
Donations of toys are delivered to local children for Christmas
by Santa and his helpers. This Toy Drive has provided toys for the
less fortunate children in the Wheaton area for the past ten years.
Without your support, this tremendous project would not be possible.

Since 1999, the Chamber has run a program providing meals for Public
Safety personnel during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
